In recent years, a constant state of stress has become the new norm in society. According to Health Statistics Taiwan 2016-2018, there is an average of 400 thousand people seeking medical attention every year due to mental problems. Thus, we design an AI-powered music production system app, Mudiary in hope to use music as a tool to console and treat those in need.

Our main design motive is to analyze personal emotion and to offer music with healing and curative functions. Based on studies, we found that personal background, including gender, nationality, and religion will contribute to listener’s feeling and music preference. Therefore, evaluation and consultation of personal preferences is very important. From a physiological point of view, using measurement tools: EMG, EEG, neuroimaging, skin response, fingertip temperature, etc can analyze personal emotion status. Finally, we modularized various music features, including volume and harmony, to make real-time music closer to users’ needs.

The major function of our app “Mudiary” is to cure and to comfort, and the auxiliary function is to control users’ negative emotions. First, we will extract their self evaluation from users using their written diary and obtain their physiological data by physical measurement tools. Through the information we have received, our app will analyze the user's emotion and extract modules from the database to produce music. During the process, the app will constantly measure the user's physical state and immediately give corresponding feedback.

The goal of Mudiary is to stabilize users’ emotions. It is suitable for moody people or those who are not good at controlling their emotions. Besides, this app can also be used as a support for therapists in treating their patients. Although emotional problems can’t be eradicated permanently, we hope this app has a curative effect towards those in need by connecting psychotherapy and their daily life.
