Project Description

Merit Award from 2020 Spring of Tsing Hua University Art Excellence Award, Technology Art Category

Putting on the virtual helmet, the observer is immersed in the virtual world, looking around, the body objects have disappeared.

But is it true that people exist in the virtual in physical form, or do they just have a "virtual perspective"? Photography has developed from the technology of "black box". The physical objects are imaged due to the light and holes projected into the black box, and the objects become virtual objects under the entity. Re-discussing the relationship of "virtual observers". Are objects in the virtual world also a projection of some kind of image? When a person enters the virtual world, it is dark everywhere, and the real body of the person has already become a virtual image that exists in virtual reality:

Using the black box as the medium of thinking, the webcam is used to place the image of the person in the hole in the helmet in real time. When the viewer moves forward, the hole expands, and finally you will see yourself behind the hole. With the development of virtual image technology, human beings have a "virtual viewing angle" to view the virtual world. Through this, "Being in _" explores the relationship between physical objects, physical images removed from the virtual and real, and virtual objects.
