LiveCoding Performance by ChucK

“s/ø” explores the interplay between subjectivity and objectivity within LiveCoding. This form of programming, seemingly rational and objective, also embodies a deeply emotional and performative essence for the coder.

The duality of subject and object is intricately woven into LiveCoding. On one side, there’s the objectivity of code—an algorithmic language governed by rules and syntax, designed to execute specific tasks. On the other, there’s the subjectivity of the coder—their emotions, intentions, and individuality expressed through the code they create.

Using OSC from ChucK, data is streamed and the screen is captured through OBS, culminating in live visual design with TouchDesigner.
